Suvro Banerji
Suvro Banerji covers the Albany Houses in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
His passion for journalism started at age 16 when he reported on education for Hindustan Times, a daily national newspaper in India. Suvro interned at CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 Show while completing his undergraduate education in broadcast news at the Missouri School of Journalism. He also worked as a multimedia producer at a local NBC affiliate, KOMU in Central Missouri. He is now a Broadcast major at Columbia Journalism School.
Suvro believes that visual story telling is the most powerful way of communication, particularly now, when new multimedia platforms are making innovative story telling more compelling than ever. After completing his degree at Columbia Journalism School, he wishes to pack his bag and take his camera to parts of Middle East and Africa. He is passionate about travelling and photography.
Suvro is a first generation Indian American and says that he loves both the United States and India. He travels to India frequently and feels that this helps him put things in perspective in the multicultural city of New York. He feels it is crucial to have an insider’s look at issues and he is always willing to go an extra mile to make sure he has a better view on stories.
