Sky McCarthy

Sky McCarthy covers the Robert F. Wagner Houses in Manhattan’s East Harlem.

Born and raised in Washington DC, Sky attended Stanford University where she majored in Political Science. Sky’s passion for journalism is hereditary; her mother is a successful journalist and Sky has always had an innate curiosity to learn more about the world and has been grateful for various travel opportunities, including trips to Italy, South Africa, France, Argentina, and her favorite location, the Netherlands.

After Stanford, Sky worked at Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Channel in the Program Planning and Scheduling Department. She helped track the competition and analyze show performance. After Showtime, Sky joined Ogilvy Entertainment, a new division of Ogilvy & Mather that specializes in the production of branded content. She worked on a television show about businesses battling global challenges of the future, for the company’s client E.I. DuPont de Nemours. The program aired internationally on BBC World News.

Sky is a pop culture aficionado who enjoys keeping up with the latest political issues and entertainment news. Sky’s passion for telling stories has led her to pursue documentary film making. She would love to eventually produce and direct documentaries about social issues. When she’s not working, she loves catching the best that New York has to offer- checking out the latest concerts, going to a Broadway show, art exhibitions, movies and exploring new cuisines. You can follow Sky on Twitter @ILiveSkyHigh.
