More than half a million New Yorkers live in public housing.  Each development is different, with its own set of challenges—its own moments of triumph.  The average income for a family living in housing is just over $20,000.   Not much in a city that ranks among the most expensive in the world.  These are the tales of the people who beat the odds, who fight back, whose vision reaches beyond their personal struggles to Make a Difference in the world around them.
